Our Response To The Corona Virus (COVID-19)

By Pastors Mike and Johanna |  March 24, 2020

Hello everyone!
I wanted to take this opportunity to update you on the church’s response to the corona virus pandemic facing our nation.
As you know, the Governor has issued a "Stay Home" order. We intend to comply with that order. Romans 13:1 says, Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God.
When this crisis is over we can join together in worship again.
I would like to urge you to please take this virus epidemic very seriously. I understand it may not be as serious to younger people as it is to older, but we don’t want anyone to get sick if we can help it.
James chapter 2 says this…
JAMES 2: 14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.
We can take a couple of things away from this scripture….

  1. If we see someone in need and don’t do something to meet that need, our faith is useless. (This includes their need for us to stay un-infected, so we don’t spread it to others. And if we see someone in need during this crisis, if we can help in some way, we should do it.)
  2. Faith without works is dead. (In other words, works give life to our faith.) This includes taking the (not only orders) from our government officials, but their advice also. (Yes the order is not to meet in groups of 50 or more, but they are suggesting everyone stay home and not get in groups at all.) This we should do.
Please visit the Washington State Department of Health’s website for more information and instructions on what you should be doing to help stop the spread of this disease.

I would also like to ask you to continue to support our church during this time that we are not meeting at the church. The work of the church has not stopped because of this virus, we are just doing things differently.
We are continuing to have a service every week. You can join us at 10:30 on Sunday’s on our website at www.harvestlifecc.com or on Face Book.
We are currently working on ways we can continue to minister to our children, teens and other small groups.
We are asking our members to please give online (just go to our website and click on the tab that says, “online giving”, or send your offerings to the church at the following address.
